31 Days: We Support

Well, let's be honest we could continue to post more than 31 days of  charities that we love. We could go on and on, but we are going to focus on The Salvation Army Angel Tree. We love what they do...Help provide Christmas to those in need. Obviously every parent wants to give their child a Christmas to remember. Trying to not get Materialized over the season can be difficult. It isn't  even the "things" it is the feeling that a child has Christmas morning when they get to open up something new. That complete JOY. In the spirit of this last Twilight being about a Mother and her New Power to Protect we want to spread our love and joy to those we don't even know. Please donate to our efforts in support of The Angel Tree.

We will have drop off locations at Sweet Tooth Fairy November 15-17. FIND ONE HERE. Also, do you have the need to give more than something for a young one? Do you have time? We will be helping out in the "Warehouse" on Saturday November 17th. E-mail us and we will give you the details.

10 things to do to prepare for BD2

Here are some things that You can do to get back into the Twilight spirit. (Fandango did a list of 20 things which inspired me for this post, but some of their items were a little too corny for me. If you want to review their post click here)

*Dress-up like a character. If you do this I MUST see pictures. (Here is Fandango's character reference)
*Watch all the Twilight Cast interviewed (See previous post for dates and shows)
*Listen to the Breaking Dawn Soundtrack
*Read Breaking Dawn again. Do this now or else it will be too fresh in your mind before the movie. And you will notice all the inconsistencies.
*Watch the Twilight movies or throw a viewing party (remember there are 4 to watch so you need some time)
*Get together with your Twilight Pack and rehash all your favorite parts
*Go check out Hot Topic for Twilight Gear
*Visit your local Jamba Juice and get a collectors cup and slap bracelet
*Make your Twilight Pack personalized t-shirts
*Review the new Vampires in the film HERE courtesy of TwilightLexicon

31 Days: Read

The SagaGirls started when we read the story "Twilight" and look what it has sprouted into. If only every person took the time to READ something that inspired them. I find something to be inspired by every day. Toady it is The Story Project. They have found ways to encourage young teens who where struggling with literacy. Amazing...Keep up the good work.

31 Days: RAINN

"How you liking the Rain?"
(cheap shot)

This doesn't really apply, but I like RAINN. This is an organization is all about helping those overcoming sexual abuse. They have ways that you can get involved, and not just by donating $. Check them out.

31 Days: 1st World Charity

I don't mean to belittle this charity. I mean the spokesperson is none other than.....Ashley Greene, whom I LOVE as Alice. But a charity for girls to get prom dresses is pretty '1st World problems' to me. It does make me happy that some of these designer dresses actually get to make it onto a real life girl next door person and be used for something other than a silly premiere or stashed away in a closet for years to come. (Cause you know these celebrities can't be seen wearing the same dress twice....seriously who made that a rule?)

But check out the good works that they do HERE. Do you still have your prom dress sitting in your closet collecting dust? Don't you think some other girl could make wonderful memories in it? If so SHARE!

31 Days: Alex's Lemonade Stand

Ever been able to drive past a Lemonade Stand and not pull over? If you can't you understand that it just pulls at your heart strings when a kid hosts a Lemonade Stand. The story behind this is awesome. Click HERE to read it all. And if you need to find some way to give to a charity this would be a worthy cause.

Thanksgiving is 1 month away and what does Thanksgiving remind us of? FOOD. Yet there are many out in this country that don't have enough to feed themselves or their children. Why not join with THIS charity and find ways for you to help FEED AMERICA.

{You have to do this....Matt Damon said so....and did you see Abigail Breslin? WOW has she grown up or what?}

31 Days: The Birthday Project

Happy B-day To the 1st and the Last Directors:
Catherine Hardwicke (today) and Bill Condon (tomorrow)
Let's Celebrate your B-day THIS way.
I found THIS charity/organization/something on Pinterest! This woman decided for her B-day to give rather than receive  She did random acts of kindness, one for every year she is old. WOW! That is awesome. Paying it forward. I love this idea and I am behind it. I have decided (shhhh the family doesn't know yet) BUT this will be a tradition in our family from now on. What better gift can you give yourself then the feeling of doing something good for someone else. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

31 Days: BBBS

Every kid needs a big brother or sister. I had two big sisters and I learned SO much from them. The bad with the good, but great examples of great character. I can't imagine not having that influence in my life. Sometimes in life even when we have older brothers or sisters they can't be that mentor that we need. THIS charity makes it possible for kids to have the type of mentor they need to have a successful life.

{I also had a pretty amazing Little Sister who put up with a lot from me}

31 Days: Predictable?

Well, yup we had to go there. HERE is an organization out to help save wolves. Aren't they so cute. Whether or not you think they are cute or not we couldn't do this awareness month without mentioning our friends here. Take a look and see how gracious these creatures are.

31 Days: BRAIN....er.....BLOOD

THIS charity just makes sense. In our family we have used our share of blood from the blood bank. It only makes sense to give back. BUT you add in another addiction of mine {The Walking Dead} and you have yourself something that just can't be missed. Hope you all can give some BRAINS....er.....BLOOD.

Another Favorite on BD2 Soundtrack

Feist is one that plays on my Pandora station a lot. I love that she is on this sound track. This is a great song. Or at least I think. What do you think? Wouldn't it be cool if they did another sound track mini tour and she was on it? I would be there.

31 Days: Planning for the Future

THIS organization allows women and men to decide their own family plan on their terms. Pretty simple, but for those without insurance or financial stability this is their option. I am So glad that there are organizations out there that help.

{Today they turn 95 WOW! HERE is something interesting to read}

Ellie Goulding

The list is out of the singles on the BD2 sound track. I am liking this one:

You can also see her Wednesday on Ellen. I am excited to see here there. Any others off the sound track you are looking forward to??

31 Days: SADD

It actually is not a SADD charity, it has happy results. They help provide peer pressure in a good direction. They influence teenagers to not be UNDER the influence of drugs and alcohol. They have also started a campaign against Texting and Driving!! Wonderful influence. Check out their progress HERE.

31 Days: Saving the Children

Add to their resume: Guardian Angel because they are Saving the World one Child at a Time. WOW! See all their good deeds HERE

31 Days: Missing

This is like my worst fear {losing my child}. I hyperventilate a bit when we go places in crowds. And to be honest it isn't realistic. My kids have never gone away from me, but it still drives me nutty. This organization helps families that have lost a child. I hope that none of you ever have to use them, but it is great to know that  there are people out there helping you at your worst moment. See what good deeds they are doing HERE.

31 Day: Helen Keller continues to Give

If you do not know the story of Helen Keller...where have you been. She not only inspires dance music, but she started THIS charity. Imagine a world that was dark and without the beauty of this world. Imagine not seeing your child or worse...your child not seeing You!

{I was going to link to the 3OH3 video, but I actually watched it....HAHA!! If you don't mind being offended take a look}

31 Days: Learning for the Future

HERE is an organization that gets behind the nations Children. We all know that the most stable future starts with a great education. Not all of us have the $$ to send our children to college, but this organization helps them get there. What a great cause.

31 Days: Love for a Story

Nearly two-thirds of low-income families in the U.S. own no books.
I am an AVID reader. I love books. I love where they can take me. And look at the POWER of books. Our blog, our connection, our strength in numbers all stems from each of us individually reading a book and finding that connection. Imagine if you did not have access to a book? I personally would be devastated. THIS charity helps provide kids with books and the access to reading. What a great purpose.

31 Days: Child Human Trafficking

A subject that is difficult to discuss is Child Trafficking. It is actually difficult to comprehend this actually happening, bu it does. Unfortunately we don't all have a dad like Liam Neeson who can track us back to them. Here is a link to a charity that is taking a stand.

31 Days: Childhood Diabetes

I was introduced to Childhood Diabetes as a 13 year old. I became friends with a girl who had Type 1. There was a lot that I learned from her. I had the opportunity to participate in the summer camp as well. JDRF is a great organization. Here is some information about Type 1 Diabetes.
  • As many as three million Americans may have type 1 diabetes. 1
  • Each year, more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults - approximately 80 people per day - are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the U.S.2

31 days: Heart Love

We are so grateful for a team of qualified and talented doctors that were able to repair the heart of our father a year ago. We are so grateful for the advances in technology.
What advances in technology are you most grateful for?

Can you 'Pitch'er a 'Perfect' Anna

So, to get you all excited for things you will NOT see in BD2 go out and see Pitch Perfect with the very talented Anna Kendrick. I just love that this girl has a great connection to Twilight. Go out and support her. From everything I hear the show is Awesome. I can't wait to see it.

31 days: Team In Training

One year ago I had the privilege to go and run the San Francisco Half Marathon with my Husband. It was such wonderful experience. 40,000 runners and most of them were apart of Team In Training. I love the idea of helping others and taking care of your body at the same time. There were cancer survivors running, cancer patients and a ton of friends and family of both. The energy from this crowd was electrifying and kept your spirits up the entire run. I think everyone should participate in these types of activities more often, either as a race participant or a cheerleading spectator. It lifts the soul and feeds your spirit like nothing else can.
Go! Fight! Win!

31 days: Kidneys

One in 10 American adults, more than 20 million, have some level of Chronic Kidney Disease.
The SagaGirls' Daddy has kidney problems, that have made the last 15 years difficult for him. If you or someone you know is dealing with the effects of kidney disease the National Kidney Foundation is a wealth of free information. Knowledge is wealth.

Taking over LA?

The news has hit all over the web about the details of BD2 Premiere in LA. The Ladies at LTT posted them and you can read them HERE. My question is who's going? I wasted some time reading some of the comments and there are some angry fans about the new process. I for one LOVE the new process. Anyone willing to take the chance this last time? What is the furthest you have gone to be "involved" with this series?

I dragged {whatever they ALL went willingly}the SagaGirls to Forks. That is the furthest I have gone. I guess getting together a theater full of people is going an extra mile also. I love celebrating the Saga with all you guys.

31 days: Autism

Cobi's youngest, 41/2yr old has autism and she writes about their journey at Peace from 6 Pieces.
We realize that many of you may be outside of Utah, but the reason we still chose this as our charity for today is because we love the fact that this charity is ran completely by volunteers. We love that every last cent of donations to this NON-PROFIT organization goes back to the people through:
grants, education and research.
Do you have a charity in your neck of the woods that is ran the same way?
Let us know about it.

Off Subject...

It is Twilight time, but My friend Brian sent me this link and I can't resist sharing this Hunger Games item with you. This is a local kid who wrote this song for Catching Fire. Spread the word and maybe his song can be in the movie.
