31 days: Bullying

October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month
I have witnessed first hand how bullying can crush a child's spirit. My oldest had a bully year after year and it broke my heart to see her cry everyday before and after school. We were able to resolve every issue but I know that's not always the case.
Bullying has become a huge problem. 1 in 4 teens is bullied every day and with all the latest and greatest technology it makes it even easier to bully more often. 43% of kids are bullied while online. How do we protect our kids?
We need to be involved in the every day stories of our children and really listen. Take the time to ask questions about how they think they should handle situations and then give suggestions and give them tools to speak and people to help when you are not there.
We need to actively teach our kids to be kind and the best way is by example.

Safe To Talk Foundation is an amazing organization helping our kids. Here is their mission....
Safe to Talk is committed to helping create safe and secure environments for our schools, nationwide. We believe that this can be accomplished through the advancement of education through programs and technology. Imagine, turning cell phones into a tool for kids to stop bullying instead of starting it! Programs consist of anti-bullying, self esteem, team sports and technology for schools. Our goal is to reduce violent and dangerous behaviors by empowering students with the training, tools, and resources needed to safely speak out against dangerous behaviors. With school budgets being reduced across the country, Safe to Talk’s mission is more critical than ever. Without gracious donors and sponsors, schools will see an even faster increase in bullying, drugs, violence, and suicides. Please join us as we help provide schools with the needed resources, as they wage this war against school violence, bullying, and drugs.

THIS IS OUR SAGA FOR THE NEXT 31 DAYS

Following Billy

I have this weird problem....I fall in love with a story/character and latch onto them and have a hard time letting go. I don't know why. I have finally released my fascination with Julia Roberts. It's funny my hubby and I really liked snatch, which turned into me liking Jason Statham, and subsequently every time I see a show with him in it I nudge my hubby and say, "Hey, It's OUR guy." Obviously the hubby has accepted this as a flaw in me and lives with it. I don't know why this happens, but SINCE I love all things twilight {silly Stephenie Meyer} I can't help following those actors that play my favorite characters. One of those being...{Billy Burke} I love him as Charlie. I think he wraps that character up. So, when randomly when I was searching for something to watch and stumbled on this {Revolution}. I was sucked in because Mr. Billy Burke is in it. BUT, I found fun little quirks inside it....like it is filmed in the same location as The Walking Dead {another guilty pleasure of mine}. I hope that you all check it out. The makers also grabbed onto the "Katniss" aspect by planting a young girl as a main character that is also great at bow hunting.

Ode to Kristen

So here's my (Cobi) question.....
This is proof she has more than one expression

yet in all her movies she never uses any of these, why?
